Story
The film tells the story of Aurora, an eight-year-old girl who believes that a monster lives under her bed and has eaten her family. In order to destroy this creature, she pays her neighbor in apartment 5B (Mads Mikkelsen), a professional killer, to kill the monster.
Over the course of the story, it becomes clear that the murder of Aurora’s parents may have been the result of the mistake of other killers who intended to kill the neighbor. This contrast between the childish fantasy and the reality of the world of assassins forms the main axis of the film.
Style and atmosphere of the film
By combining fantasy, horror and thriller, Fuller has created an atmosphere reminiscent of the works of Guillermo del Toro.
